Taking Indian Standard Time (IST) into account, the eclipse will begin at 2245, and reach the maximum at 0053 hours. The eclipse will start to become visible at around 0023 hours. So if you are in India you will get to ring in the new year not only with a full moon, but also one that is undergoing a partial eclipse.
The eclipse will also be visible in China, Russia, Southeast Asia and most of Europe. The eclipse will not be visible in the United States.
