New Zodiac Signs for your Horoscope

I am not too big on astrology and horoscopes. But, there is now a new sign of the zodiac table known as Ophiuchus. The Ophiuchus zodiac sign represents a serpent tamer and falls within the months of November and December.

This sign was originally discarded by ancient Babylonians, since the addition of Ophiuchus brings to total number of zodiac signs to 13, one more than the preferred 12.   The main reason for the discrepancy was because the gravitational pull of the moon may have made the sky appear slightly different to Babylonians, and now we are allowed to make the addition of the 13th sign. Seems to me that 13 is an unlucky number, so maybe mainstream astrologers will not be too hot on the idea.

The New Zodiac List
Looking at some local newspapers this morning for horoscopes, I have not found any that have added the 13th zodiac sign, yet. However, the Star Tribune listed these zodiac signs as the new list with Ophiuchus tucked in between Scorpio and Sagittarius:

Capricorn: Jan. 20-Feb. 16.
Aquarius: Feb. 16-March 11.
Pisces: March 11-April 18.
Aries: April 18-May 13.
Taurus: May 13-June 21.
Gemini: June 21-July 20.
Cancer: July 20-Aug. 10.
Leo: Aug. 10-Sept. 16.
Virgo: Sept. 16-Oct. 30.
Libra: Oct. 30-Nov. 23.
Scorpio: Nov. 23-29.
Ophiuchus:* Nov. 29-Dec. 17.
Sagittarius: Dec. 17-Jan. 20.

Perhaps, someday in the future the sign of Ophiuchus will be added as astrologers latch onto the idea.  In looking at the list, I noticed that I am no longer an Aquarius, since the dates for all of the other signs have shifted slightly.  Now, by birthday falls within the sign of Capricorn.  You may want to take a close look at the list to see where you zodiac sign falls.
