Meteor Lights up the Sky over Maryland

During the early mornings hours of July 7th, a meteor perhaps a few meters across, lit up the sky for about 5 seconds as it re-entered the earth's atmosphere a little after 1 AM. The meteor was seen across Maryland and Pennsylvania. In addition, a large sonic boom was heard. This may be an indicator that some fragments of the rock may have reached the ground. The meter passed across central Maryland and into southern Pennsylvania.
